Water outages likely to affect several regions of Guadeloupe until Jan. 27. Business disruptions likely.

Informational

The Community Water and Sanitation Authority (La Regie Communautaire de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement, ODYSSI) has announced water service interruptions in the Lamentin area from 06:00 Jan. 22 until 11:00 Jan. 27 due to water shortages; additionally, reports indicate water disruptions in recent days in several parts of Grand Terre as of Jan. 21.

Continued water shortages could prompt the extension of water service interruptions. Water disruptions may also affect other parts of Guadeloupe. Business disruptions are likely, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of water.

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations if operating in the impacted areas. Consider using bottled water. Water pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
