Protesting merchants have blocked traffic on Avenida Javier Rojo Gomez near the intersection with Calle Sur 16 in the Iztapalapa area of Mexico City as of the afternoon of Jan. 4. The protesters are demanding the release of individuals detained in relation to a shooting that took place on Jan. 2. Police are monitoring the gathering.
