Authorities in N'Djamena have issued orders prohibiting a pro-Russian rally slated to take place near the Embassy of the Russian Federation on Feb. 10. Activists affiliated with the Republican Party and the Dar-Al-Assalam Association have been planning to gather near the embassy between the hours of 10:00-12:00 to show support for certain of the Kremlin's policies. It remains unclear whether the two groups will attempt to move forward with the demonstration despite not being granted a permit for the event.
Local authorities will almost certainly maintain an elevated security posture near the Russian embassy in N'Djamena on Feb. 10 as a precaution.
