Lebanon: Alleged Israeli airstrikes target Bissariyeh and Al Mansuri, Feb. 27

Alleged Israeli retaliatory airstrikes target Hizballah assets in southern Lebanon Feb. 27. Further cross-border violence likely.

Warning

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) allegedly conducted airstrikes against several towns in southern Lebanon, including Bissariyeh, more than 40 km (25 miles) from the Israeli border, and Al Mansuri. Reports indicate that these strikes were in retaliation for Hizballah launching over 60 rockets on Mount Meron, northern Israel, after the IDF targeted Hizballah air defense systems near Baalbek, killing two militants and one member of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) early Feb. 26.

Heightened security and disruptions to transport and business are likely in the area over the coming hours. Further cross-border violence is likely.

Avoid the area until authorities give the all-clear. Plan for localized disruptions and seek alternative routes to circumvent the impacted location. Heed all official directives. Seek alternative routes and allow additional time to reach destinations if operating in the impacted area.
