Moldova: Transport operators to protest in central Chisinau Feb. 15

Minibus taxi drivers affiliated with the Association of Motor Transport Operators (APOTA) will protest at the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on Feb. 15 to denounce amendments to the Road Transport Code. Organizers expect about 100-150 minibus drivers will park their vehicles along the lanes furthest to the right on Stefan cel Mare beginning at around 10:00. The event is slated to end at about 13:00.

Authorities will likely deploy an increased security presence near the Great National Assembly Square as a precaution. While event organizers assert that protesting drivers will leave two lanes on Stefan cel Mare open to vehicle traffic in both directions during the demonstration, localized transport disruptions remain likely.
