Nigeria: Six-hour power outage planned in parts of Abuja on Feb. 10 to facilitate scheduled maintenance
Nigerian utility company to cut power in parts of Abuja 09:00-15:00 Feb. 10 for scheduled maintenance.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) plans to cut electrical power to parts of Abuja between the hours of 09:00-15:00 Feb. 10 in order to facilitate scheduled maintenance at two of its transmission substations. Areas of the city to be impacted by power outage include Lokogoma, Kabusa Garden, TradeMore, Pyakasa, Aherita, Chika, Games Village, Stadium, Wuye, Utako, Life Camp, and Idu.
Temporary business disruptions are possible; localized traffic disruptions could also occur during the outage due to inoperable traffic signals.
Make sure mobile devices are fully charged before the outage begins; draw and store sufficient water for the duration of the power cut since well pumps in affected areas will likely be inoperable. Plan accordingly for storage of food stocks that require refrigeration. Exercise increased caution when driving through affected parts of Abuja, especially near intersections with inoperable traffic signals.
