Firefighters will rally outside Korea Development Bank building in Seoul, South Korea, 14:00-16:00 Feb. 26. Localized disruptions likely.
Firefighters affiliated with the National Civil Service Workers’ Union plan to rally outside the Korea Development Bank building in Yeouido, Seoul, 14:00-16:00 Feb. 26. Participants intend to hold a march from Korea Development Bank, passing through the offices of the Democratic Party of Korea and People Power Party, before returning to the bank. Participants demand a complete nationalization of the fire service organization and more manpower. Organizers claim at least 700 firefighters will participate in the event.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the announced march route and main rally site. Although violence is unlikely, minor scuffles may break out if police attempt to disperse the gathering forcibly. Traffic disruptions are possible through Eunhaeng-ro, Gukhoe-daero, and Yeouigongwon-ro, especially if activists hold additional road blockades or street marches.
Exercise caution around the protest site. Allow additional time for travel to nearby destinations; use alternative routes to circumvent rally sites. Heed all local security and traffic advisories. Leave the area at the first sign of scuffles.
