Italy: Postal workers to strike nationwide, protest in Milan and Rome March 21
Unionized Poste Italiane workers to strike across Italy March 21; central protests planned for Milan and Rome.
Unionized workers employed by Poste Italiane, Italy's postal service provider, plan to conduct a nationwide strike on March 21. The purpose of the strike is to denounce the planned privatization of 29 percent of Poste Italiane. Participants will also gather for the following demonstrations:
Milan:
Protest at Piazza Cordusio from 09:30.
Sit-in protest at the Prefecture of Milan (Prefettura di Milano) building on Corso Monforte from 15:00.
Rome: Protest at the Pantheon from 10:00.
