Mexico: Activists plan to march in downtown Mexico City starting at 16:00 March 26

Activists to march in central Mexico City, Mexico, from 16:00 March 26; heightened security and localized transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Around 300 activists plan to march in downtown Mexico City during the afternoon of March 26. The purpose of the action is to demand justice for the 43 students abducted during the 2014 mass kidnapping in Guerrero State. Participants will gather at the Angel de la Independencia starting at 16:00 before marching to the Hemiciclo a Benito Juarez Monument.

Although the action should remain largely peaceful, authorities will likely deploy an increased police presence near the demonstration as a precaution. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely along the march route.

Avoid the march as a precaution. Allow additional time to reach destinations if operating near the impacted area. Seek alternative routes to circumvent any related transport disruptions. Heed the instructions of security personnel.
