Protesters blocking Lecheria-Texcoco motorway in Texcoco, Mexico, Jan. 28. Tight security, localized transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Protesters are blocking the Lecheria-Texcoco motorway (Federal Highway 142) in Texcoco's La Pastoria neighborhood as of the afternoon of March 5. The purpose of the action is to condemn the lack of drinking water in the area. Demonstrators are blocking traffic along the thoroughfare in both directions. The action has reportedly disrupted traffic moving towards Mexico City's Ecatepec de Morelos suburb.

A heightened security presence is likely in the affected area for the duration of the gathering. Localized transport and business disruptions could continue for several hours after the demonstration has ended. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area until the demonstration ends and the protesters have dispersed. Allow additional time to reach nearby destinations. Strictly follow all instructions from local police. Leave the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
