Armed assailants reportedly attacked a convoy traveling to Pibor, in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, March 19. The attackers killed 15 individuals, including several local officials. The perpetrator's identities and motivations are not confirmed; they could likely be youths from a rival community.

Increased security measures are likely in the impacted areas in the coming days. Further violence can not be ruled out. Should any violence occur, officials could impose movement restrictions, including curfews.

Pibor is located about 275 km (170 miles) northwest of Juba.
