Ghana: Protest at the Obra Spot in Accra, April 17

Several civil society groups have called for a protest in Accra on April 17. Participants will gather at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle (also called Obra Spot) from 07:00 and march towards the Jubilee House and then the Parliament. The purpose of the action is to denounce the government's perceived inaction over a shortage of medicines stuck at the Tema Port.

Heightened security and traffic disruptions are likely along the march route. While widespread violence is not anticipated, clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
