Italy: Various aviation sector workers plan strike on April 8

Air traffic controllers in Brindisi and Bari, and Air Dolomiti workers nationwide plan strike in Italy April 8. Confirm flights

Informational

Workers in Italy's aviation sector will stage various strikes on April 8. Unionized air traffic controllers employed at Brindisi Airport (BDS) will strike for 24 hours, while air traffic controllers at Bari Airport (BIS) will strike 13:00-17:00. On the same day, Air Dolomiti (EN) workers will also strike for 24 hours. Striking workers are calling for a new collective bargaining agreement.

Air travel disruptions, including delays and additional cancellations, are almost certain at the affected airports and Air Dolomiti services. Flight disruptions may spread to other airports. Striking workers may conduct picket protests; should any occur, heightened security and localized transport disruptions are possible.

Reconfirm all air travel at BDS, BIS, and with Air Dolomiti on April 8. Allow additional time for air travel through the impacted airports. Do not check out of accommodations before checking the status of your flight. Strictly heed all instructions from authorities.
