Lebanon: Officials close country's airspace until at least 07:00 April 14 following reports of Iranian attack on Israel

Lebanon temporarily closes its airspace until at least 07:00 April 14 amid Iranian attack on Israel; significant flight disruptions likely.

Critical

Officials in Lebanon have temporarily closed the country's airspace to all flights, including those arriving in, departing from, or transiting Lebanon, until at least 07:00 April 14. The move comes amid reports of a major Iranian drone and missile attack on Israel and associated GPS disruptions affecting parts of the region. Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) has accordingly halted flight operations. Lebanese authorities may extend, rescind, or otherwise modify the airspace closure on short notice.

Significant disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are likely to affect flights scheduled to travel via Lebanese airports and airspace over the short term. Residual flight disruptions are likely even after the airspace closure is lifted as airlines work to clear any flight backlogs that materialize.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via a Lebanese airport or Lebanese airspace. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
