Montenegro: Activists to block M2.3 highway near Cetinje 08:00-20:00 April 15
Activists to block M2.3 highway east of Cetinje, Montenegro, 08:00-20:00 April 15. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.
Activists plan to block the M2.3 highway east of Cetinje from 08:00 to 20:00 on April 15. The demonstrators are former factory workers who are demanding back wages. It is unclear how many participants are in attendance; however, previous related demonstrations appeared to draw several dozen protesters.
Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely on the M2.3 near Cetinje during the protest hours and may continue for several hours after protesters disperse. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or frustrated motorists cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Seek alternate routes to avoid the blockade. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
The planned April 15 protest follows similar demonstrations on April 1 and 8. However, organizers announced that the April 15 demonstration will last twelve hours, almost three times as long as the other blockade protests, as demonstrators feel they have not received due attention from authorities.
