Suspected bandits stormed Maradun, the headquarters of the Maradun Local Government Area (LGA), Zamfara State, on April 26. Conflicting reports indicate that assailants killed several residents and kidnapped dozens more.

Security forces will likely conduct operations to apprehend the attackers and rescue the abductees, potentially establishing roadblocks and checkpoints, as well as searching vehicles and pedestrians. Armed clashes between suspects and security forces cannot be ruled out.
