Workers affiliated with the Independent Trade Union for Education, Science, and Culture (SONK) plan to protest at the Ministry of Culture building on Gjuro Gjakovik in Skopje from 11:00 April 22. The purpose of the demonstration is to demand the payment of delayed salaries for workers in the culture sector. This is the second such protest following a gathering on April 19 that reportedly drew about 500 participants.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
