Unionized labor activists affitiliated with the Federal Department of Workers from Arequipa (Federacion Departamental de Trabajadores de Arequipa, FDTA) have planned an anti-government protest march in Arequipa City from 10:00 April 4 to demand the current president, along with the current members of Congress, step down and allow for new general elections to be held. Demonstrators will also demand an increase to the minimum wage. Participants have indicated that they aim to gather at the FDTA headquarters.
