Romania: Sports activists to protest in Bucharest from 12:00 April 23
Sports activists to rally at National Sports Agency, Bucharest, Romania, from 12:00-13:30 April 23 and then march to Ministry of Labor.
Unionized sports activists affiliated with the National Youth and Sports Union (Sindicatul National Sport si Tineret, SNST) plan to demonstrate at Bucharest's National Sports Agency from 12:00-13:30 on April 23 and conduct a subsequent march to the Ministry of Labor and Social Justice after that to request the Ministry's assistance. The purpose of the protest and march is to demand salary increases. It is unclear how many participants may attend.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
