Taiwan: Phase one of annual civil defense exercises to take place islandwide April 11-May 16
Taiwan to conduct first phase of annual civil defense exercises April 11-May 16. Tight security, ground, and air travel disruptions likely.
Taiwan will conduct phase one of the annual National Defense Mobilization and Disaster Prevention and Rescue Drill, known as Min An No. 10, islandwide from April 11-May 16. As of April 9, the Ministry of National Defense has announced the following dates and locations:
April 11: Taoyuan
April 18: Nantou County
April 25: Changhua County
May 2: Pingtung County
May 9: Chiayi County
May 16: Miaoli County
Authorities will probably conduct simulated disaster response scenarios, including earthquakes, floods, or other emergencies. Officials may implement enhanced security measures to facilitate the exercises, including advisories to move to designated shelters. Transportation services, such as roads and public transit, may experience temporary closures or disruptions during the designated drill times. Flight disruptions are likely at major airports. Related shipping delays could occur.
