Colombia: Protesters blocking roads in Bogota May 8
Protesters blocking roads in Bogota, Colombia, May 8. Avoid all demonstrations as a precaution.
Protesters have blocked roads in two areas in Bogota May 8. In the Bosque Popular neighborhood, demonstrators have blocked traffic at the intersection of Carrera 68 and Calle 64C. In the La Merced neighborhood, student protesters have blocked traffic at the intersection of Avenida Circunvalar and Calle 26C.
Transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of both protests, and police will almost certainly deploy to the demonstration sites. Clashes between security forces and protestors are possible.
Avoid all protests as a precaution. If violence occurs, immediately leave the area and seek shelter in a non-governmental building. Allow for additional transport time. Seek alternative routes. Heed the instructions of security personnel.
