Passenger rail service on the Cato Ridge line between Durban and Cato Ridge, KwaZulu-Natal Province, is suspended as of May 12. The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) halted service after a freight train collided with a passenger train between Hammarsdale and KwaTandaza on May 9, damaging an overhead cable and part of the track.
