The protest at the Legislative Yuan in Taipei will likely attract a very large crowd. Attendance at other demonstrations will probably vary by location, with gatherings planned in Kaohsiung, Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan likely drawing the largest number of participants. Attendance will probably peak in the evenings after business and school hours.
Heightened security measures, including road blocks are likely around protest sites. Localized transport and business disruptions are probable. Increased demand for public transport is possible as activists arrive and leave the rally sites. Although unlikely, minor scuffles between police and activists cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the demonstrations as a precaution. Depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance. Plan accordingly for likely transport and business disruptions on May 24. Heed all official directives.
