Border workers temporarily postpone strike in Canada on June 7 amid negotiations. Strike to possibly continue June 12.
Workers of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), affiliated with the Customs and Immigration Union (CIU), temporarily postponed the strike as of 16:00 June 7. The strike was intended to demand improved salaries, benefits, and job protections. CIU leaders and government representatives continue to negotiate, and they have indicated that action will be on hold and negotiations will last until at least June 12.
