On June 9, Interior Minister Vít Rakusan indicated that increased security measures are in place in Prague following the arrest of an unidentified person suspected of planning an act of terrorism. The suspect is a foreign national of South American origin. Additional details are scheduled to be released after a June 10 State Security Council meeting. Additional security forces will remain deployed to densely populated locations, including shopping centers, transport hubs, and sporting events. Rakusan has noted that the measures are preventative and that there is no imminent danger.
