Environmental protest groups, including Extinction Rebellion, plan to demonstrate in Helsinki, from 15:00 June 25. Protesters will demand increased action to address climate change. The demonstration is part of a week of events; further demonstrations are planned on June 28 and 30. As of June 24, it is not known where the protests will take place; however, in early June, campaigners blocked roads in central Helsinki, including in the Market Square. The climate campaigner Greta Thunberg will attend the event; therefore, it is possible that attendance will reach the low thousands.

Local authorities will likely deploy additional security to protest events. Protesters are likely to block roads and disrupt traffic in the vicinity of protest locations. Scuffles are possible between frustrated motorists and activists.
