France: Port workers' union suspends nationwide strike planned through June 28 /update 1

Union suspends port workers strike planned across France June 4-28. Strike to resume Sept. 26-27.

The National Federation of Ports and Docks (FNDP) has suspended nationwide port strikes scheduled to continue through June 28. The strikes have been suspended in response to the dissolution of the National Assembly ahead of elections scheduled for June 30 and July 7. The union called the industrial action to denounce pension reforms. The FNDP has called for strikes to resume Sept. 26-27.
