Lebanon: Israeli drone reportedly strikes Civil Defense personnel in Massa June 24
Israeli drone reported in Massa in Beka'a Valley, Lebanon, June 24. Further cross-border violence likely.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly conducted a drone strike in Massa in the Beka'a Valley, June 24. Reports claim that the drone struck the Lebanese Civil Defense personnel. There have been no immediate reports of casualties as a result of the strikes. The IDF's strike comes amid the regular launch of projectiles by the Lebanese Hizballah (LH) militant group targeting northern Israeli communities.
Heightened security and transport and business disruptions are likely in the affected area over the coming hours. Further cross-border violence is likely over the short term.
Avoid the impacted location until authorities give the all-clear. Plan for localized disruptions. Allow additional time for travel and seek alternative routes to circumvent the affected area. Heed all official directives.
The IDF has regularly retaliated against projectile attacks by LH; however, it has increasingly begun targeting LH's military infrastructure deeper inside Lebanon in an effort to deter the militant group from further attacks.
