Lebanon: Targeted Israeli strikes result in injuries in Qantara and Seddiqine June 1

Targeted Israeli strikes result in injuries in Qantara and Seddiqine, Lebanon, June 1. Further violence likely.

Warning

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly carried out targeted strikes on Qantara, Marjeyoun District, and Seddiqine, Tyre District, in Nabatieh and South governorates, respectively, June 1. The strike came a few hours after Hizballah launched a rocket attack on the town of Kiryat Shemona in northern Israel earlier June 1. Reports indicate at least seven civilian injuries.

Heightened security and disruptions to transport and business are likely in the affected area over the coming hours.

Avoid the area where the strike took place until authorities give the all-clear. Plan for localized disruptions and seek alternative routes to circumvent the impacted location. Heed all official directives. Seek alternative routes and allow additional time to reach destinations if operating in the impacted area.

The latest Israeli strike comes amid the ongoing cross-border violence between the IDF and various Lebanese-based militants, including Lebanese Hizballah (LH). The IDF's objective is to deter the militants from further attacks against Israel and to force them to withdraw from areas near the country's border with Lebanon.
