Unplanned power disruptions are affecting more than 32,000 customers across Northland as of the afternoon of June 20. According to official sources, the power outage started after a Transpower tower fell near Glorit at around 11:00. The downed pylon is causing travel delays on State Highway 16 between West Coast and Kaipara Hills roads near Glorit; Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising motorists to avoid the area. Officials are unable to provide a clear timeline for the resumption of services in the impacted areas.
