Israel: Israeli authorities close airspace north of Hadera until at least 05:30 Aug. 1
Authorities close airspace north of Hadera, Israel, until at least 05:30 Aug. 1. Flight disruptions likely.
Israeli authorities have temporarily closed the country's airspace north of Hadera until at least 05:30 Aug. 1. The move comes in anticipation of a retaliatory Lebanese Hizballah (LH) attack after Israel launched an airstrike targeting senior LH commander Fuad Shukr (alias Hajj Mohsin) in Beirut July 30.
Flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are likely to affect flights scheduled to travel via airports and airspace in northern Israel over the short term. Residual flight disruptions are likely even after the airspace closure is lifted as airlines work to clear any flight backlogs that materialize.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via an Israeli airport or Israeli airspace. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
