Addition protests are possible in Ugu District, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Province, through early August due to a strike by taxi operators. Striking operators blocked main roads throughout the district July 29-30. Sections of the N2 and R61 were impacted, with traffic being completely blocked in some areas. Associated protests were reported in Izingolweni and Marburg. Additional police forces have been deployed to monitor the protests and remove roadblocks. The strike is being organized to protest the alleged delays in issuing operating licenses by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport.
