South Africa Police Service (SAPS) personnel rescued two Chinese nationals after they were abducted in Bramley, Johannesburg, July 24. The two victims were transported to the area to make a purchase before their driver was stopped by two armed men. The driver was robbed and left at the scene. The assailants drove the victims to Alexandra. Police recovered the victims several hours after the initial abduction. Some reports indicate a ransom was paid. The suspects have not been identified.
