A group of civil society organizations - including the Rivonia Circle and the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation - have announced a protest under the "Joburg Crisis Alliance" banner in Braamfontein, central Johannesburg on July 27. They are demanding the removal of the incumbent mayor and better service delivery, among other issues. Protesters plan to gather near the City of Johannesburg building from 10:00-12:00.
