Storms prompt ground delay at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, N.C., US, July 18; Flight disruptions likely.

Warning

Flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, will likely affect Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina, through at least the late afternoon of July 18 due to severe weather impacting the region. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground delay for CLT that is slated to remain in effect until at least 22:59 due to thunderstorms. The FAA may extend, rescind, or otherwise modify the ground stop on short notice.

The FAA may also issue additional weather-related ground delay programs and/or ground stops for CLT over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible even after weather conditions improve as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via CLT. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
