US: Lingering flight disruptions likely to affect Nantucket Memorial Airport in Nantucket, Mass., July 7 due to low ceilings

Low ceilings prompt ground stop at Nantucket Memorial Airport in Nantucket, Mass., US, July 7; lingering flight disruptions likely.

Warning

Flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, will likely affect Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) in Nantucket, Massachusetts, through at least the early afternoon of July 7 due to prevailing weather conditions. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground stop for ACK that is slated to remain in effect until at least 13:30 due to low ceilings. The FAA may extend, rescind, or otherwise modify the ground stop on short notice.

The FAA may issue additional weather-related ground delay programs and/or ground stops for ACK over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible even after weather conditions improve as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via ACK. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
