The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for southwestern Cedar County, southern Johnson County, northeastern Washington County, and northwestern Muscatine County in Iowa July 2. The warning, which notably covers part of Iowa City, is in effect until at least 18:30 and could be extended or expanded on short notice.

This is a developing situation; additional information will be issued as warranted.

Seek shelter immediately in areas covered by the warning. Be prepared to quickly move to a safe location if new warnings are issued. Postpone driving until weather conditions improve.
