The funeral of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), will occur in Hanoi July 25-26. The public will pay respects to the leader at National Funeral Home between 07:00-22:00 July 25 and 07:00-13:00 July 26. A memorial service will begin at 13:00 July 26, before a burial service at Mai Dich Cemetery from 15:00. Hundreds of supporters will likely gather at the venues. The event is likely to pass off peacefully.

Authorities will likely maintain an increased security presence near sites hosting formal events and facilitate the movement of government officials' motorcades.
