As of early Aug. 6, increased security is likely near Ayn Al-Assad Airbase (AAAB) in Al-Baghdadi, Al Anbar Governorate, after at least two US Soldiers were injured in a projectile attack that targeted the airbase in late Aug. 5; minor infrastructural damage has also been reported. The exact causality figures remain unclear; officials may update them soon. No group has as yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
Increased security is likely in the impact area through Aug. 6. Localized transport disruptions are possible. Additional attacks targeting Ayn Al-Assad Airbase or the areas around it cannot be ruled out.
