Projectile attacks targeting the Ayn Al-Assad Airbase in Al-Baghdadi in Al Anbar Governorate were reported late Aug. 5. Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least eight of the projectiles have been shot down. There have been no official reports of casualties or significant material damage.
Heightened security measures and localized transport disruptions are likely near the impact area over the coming hours. Additional attacks targeting military installations and critical infrastructure sites cannot be ruled out.
