Lebanon: Flight disruptions likely at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport through at least early August /update 2

Flight disruptions likely at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, Lebanon, through at least early August due to increasing tensions.

Warning

Flight disruptions will likely continue at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) through at least early August amid increasing regional tensions. Airlines have extended their suspension of flights into Beirut due to elevated potential for violence and insurance risks after a July 27 rocket attack originating from Lebanon killed at least 12 civilians in the Golan Heights.

Air France (AF) and Transavia (HV) have extended their suspension of all flights into BEY until at least Aug. 6, while Aegean Airlines (A3) has extended its suspension until Aug. 8. Kuwait Airways (KU) on Aug. 3 announced an indefinite suspension starting from Aug. 5. Lufthansa (LH) and Swiss International Air Lines (LX) had previously announced a suspension until Aug. 12. Additional airlines could announce similar measures.

Lingering disruptions are likely after normal services resume as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs.

Reconfirm flight schedules. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
