Warning

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly launched an airstrike on a building in the Kfour area in Nabatieh early Aug. 17. Local media reports indicate six people were killed and three others injured in the strike.

Heightened security, as well as transport and business disruptions, are likely in the affected area over the coming hours. Further cross-border violence is likely in the short term.

Avoid the area until authorities give the all-clear. Plan for localized disruptions and seek alternative routes to circumvent the impacted location. Heed all official directives. Seek alternative routes and allow additional time to reach destinations if operating in the impacted area.

The latest Israeli strike comes amid the ongoing cross-border violence between the IDF and Lebanese Hizballah (LH) and Hamas militants. The IDF's objective is to deter the militants from further attacks against Israel and to force them to withdraw from areas near the country's border with Lebanon.
