Pakistan: Explosion in Pishin District results in casualties, Aug. 24

Officials will likely maintain heightened security in Pishin District, Balochistan Province, through Aug. 24 following an earlier bomb explosion. The blast occurred in a market near Surkhab Chowk leaving at least three people dead and 13 injured. The explosive device was reportedly planted in a motorcycle. There have been no claims of responsibility for the attack. Surkhab is located approximately 20 km (12 miles) north of Quetta.

Road closures and other related disruptions are likely near the incident site over the coming hours. Additional attacks are possible.
