Opposition activists plan to demonstrate in central Bratislava from 17:00 on Aug. 12. Political groups will denounce the Cultural Minister's recent dismissal of the directors of the National Theater and National Gallery. Attendees will gather at 17:00 at the National Theater and march first to the National Gallery and then to the Culture Ministry. It is possible that several hundred will take part in the event.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration route.
Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
