Authorities to close part of N3 highway for roadworks between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, 14:30-15:00 Aug. 27.
The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) has announced it will close part of the N3 highway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg 14:30-15:00 on Aug. 27 for a planned demolition operation near the road. The affected section is located between the Umlaas Road/Market Road interchange and the Lynnfield (Lion Park) interchange. The nearby R103 will also be closed. The closure period is subject to change at short notice.
Disruptions from increased traffic are likely to affect the nearby R603 and may linger in the hours following the closure. Localized transport disruptions and freight delays from increased congestion are likely for the duration of the closure.
Plan for transport disruptions and delays if traveling near Pietermaritzburg and Durban during the affected period. Consider seeking alternative routes. Heed the instructions of officials.
