Warning

Authorities are responding to a Russian missile strike that hit a hotel in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on early Aug. 27. Preliminary reports indicate that the strike hit the Aurora Hotel near the city center. Significant structural damage and at least ten fatalities have been reported; however, authorities have yet to confirm casualty figures.

Authorities will likely maintain heightened security measures near affected areas over the coming hours. Localized ground transport and business disruptions are probable. Medical service disruptions are likely as local medical facilities work to treat casualties and damage to hospitals, which may reduce operational capacity. Utility outages are also expected in the aftermath of the strikes. Further strikes are likely.

Avoid any areas affected by military strikes until authorities give the all-clear. Shelter in place if there are strikes in your area. Stay away from windows and exterior walls if officials report incoming projectile fire. Reconfirm planned medical appointments. Follow the instructions of local security personnel, especially when instructed to seek refuge in air-raid shelters. Maintain contact with diplomatic representations. Do not approach suspected unexploded ordnance.
