Severe weather disrupts flights at Boston Logan International Airport in Boston, Mass., US, Aug. 15; disruptions likely into early Aug. 16.

Warning

Weather-related flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, will likely affect Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in Boston, Massachusetts, into at least early Aug. 16. As of around 18:00 Aug. 15, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had issued a ground delay program at BOS that was slated to remain in effect until at least 00:59 Aug. 16 due to thunderstorms. Flight departures to BOS were delayed by an average of 70 minutes. The FAA may extend, rescind, or otherwise modify the ground delay program on short notice.

The FAA may issue additional ground stops and/or ground delay programs for airports in the Boston area over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible even after weather conditions improve as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.

Confirm flight schedules if booked to fly via BOS. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
