Activists plan to protest at in Berlin, the Hague, and Prague Sept. 7-8. The purpose of the demonstrations is to denounce the Aug. 25 arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend. Demonstrations will occur at the following locations:

  • Berlin: Bebelplatz from 14:00 Sept. 7.

  • The Hague: Carnegieplein from 14:00 Sept. 8.

  • Prague: Statue of Saint Wenceslas in Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske Namesti) from 14:00 Sept. 8.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or ideologically opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
