Chile: Airport workers strike at Santiago International Airport ends Sept. 13 after labor and management reach agreement /update 1
Unionized workers at Santiago International Airport, Chile, end strike Sept. 13. Some residual flights occurring on departures Sept. 14.
Unionized employees of Santiago International Airport (SCL) in Chile ended their indefinite strike on Sept. 13 after union leaders and airport management reached an agreement on higher salaries. The strike began at 00:01 Sept. 11. Although the workers have returned to their jobs, SCL is reporting some lingering delays to departing flights as of the early afternoon of Sept. 14; arrivals appear to be operating normally, however. Residual departure delays could continue through late Sept. 14 as carriers reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs following the work stoppage.
Confirm travel arrangements if booked to fly via SCL into at least early Sept. 15. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
