Ecuador: Quito's Mariscal Sucre International Airport to temporarily suspend operations Sept. 21
Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, Ecuador, to temporarily suspend operations 02:00-12:00 Sept. 21 for runway maintenance work.
Authorities have announced the suspension of all flights from 02:00-12:00 Sept. 21 at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) to conduct preventative runway maintenance work. While the passenger terminal will remain open during this time, all 34 flights previously scheduled to depart from or arrive at UIO during the suspension have been rescheduled. Airport authorities recommend travelers contact the airline directly for additional flight information.
Lingering flight disruptions are likely even after operations resume as airlines work to clear the backlog of flights.
Reconfirm flight schedules before departing for the airport. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
